The Story
ABOUT KERRYN
In 2013 Kerryn Harvey contracted Necrotising Fasciitis, also known as flesh eating bacteria and survived against all odds. To save her life her right arm and shoulder were amputated in what’s known as a forequarter arm amputation. After a long rehabilitation she successfully rebuilt an active and fulfilling life for herself and now inspires others to do the same. Through her actions she proves that you can achieve any goal in life if you are truly passionate about it and never give up.
Kerryn has lived in her hometown of Melbourne all her life. She shares an apartment with her rescue cat Olympia. She loves Melbourne as it is the sporting capital of Australia and Kerryn loves her sport!
Kerryn is owner/operator of Personal Training business “Nine Lives Training” where she trains clients from all walks of life who need structure, guidance, and motivation to achieve their fitness and sporting goals. Aside from a Certificate IV in Fitness, Kerryn is also a qualified recreational run coach, boxing instructor and indoor cycling instructor.

An Active & Meaningful
LIFE
Outside of her business, Kerryn is busy achieving her own sporting goals. She is an avid runner, swimmer, cyclist, and triathlete who loves training and competing. She spent 4 years racing for Australia as an amputee Paratriathlete, having great success on the world stage. Beyond that she is a passionate supporter of AFL team Collingwood and can often be found at the MCG on weekends loudly cheering for her team. In her less active moments, she considers herself a connoisseur of hot chocolate and chardonnay.
Kerryn shares her story and learnings through public speaking and key notes at corporate, sports club, schools, and business events.
Kerryn’s story has appeared in The Age, Herald Sun, Adelaide Advertiser and many smaller publications and magazines. She has featured on Channel 7’s Sunday Night, and has appeared on radio stations MMM and numerous times on the ABC. Kerryn has been a guest speaker on many podcasts, most recently on an SBS Yumi Stynes Seen episode.
She is passionate about health and fitness and living an active and meaningful life! Kerryn shares her journey of surviving against all odds to thriving in life in her first book “Mostly Ups” and through her public speaking work.
Kerryn is a living, breathing example of the strength of the human spirit.
